Sai Swetha Yellapragada (trading as "ToneWise", the "Seller") is the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, login credentials, profile picture.
  • Content you submit: messages, screenshots, voice recordings, journal entries, relationship and workplace notes.
  • AI outputs: insights, rewrites, coaching responses generated for you.
  • Usage and telemetry: pages visited, features used, error reports.
  • Device data: device type, browser, IP address.
  • Support communications: messages you send us.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the Service (analysis, coaching, persistence of your reflections).
  • To create and secure your account.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To improve the Service (in aggregate, de-identified form where possible).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To communicate product updates (you can opt out of marketing).

3. Legal basis

Where applicable (e.g. UK/EEA), we rely on: contract performance (delivering the Service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), consent (optional marketing), and legal obligations.

4. Who we share data with

  • Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database (Supabase), analytics, error monitoring, email delivery.
  • AI providers: Google (Gemini) and OpenAI process the content you submit to generate insights, under their data-processing terms.
  • Merchant of Record: Paddle.com, for sale of subscriptions, billing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers: legal and accounting, when needed.
  • Authorities: where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or rely on adequacy decisions to safeguard transfers.

6. Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep records (e.g. tax/billing).

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to: access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. You may complain to your local data-protection authority. We respond within one month. Contact: support@tonewise.app.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security in our database.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not currently use marketing cookies. We may add analytics cookies in the future and will update this notice if so.

10. Children

ToneWise is not intended for children under 16. Do not use the Service if you are under this age.

11. Changes

We may update this notice. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
